WHO'S SMARTER NOW

For the lovers of soccer like me, the FIFA World Cup 2010 final seems to have been played. The match between Brazil and the Netherlands lived up to the standards of a final. Up to date even the semi finals don't promise to get to the standard of the match.

This was a game that everybody knew Brazil had already won without a doubt. It was the underdog (Netherlands) trying to out do the master (Brazil). The first half did not disappoint with Robinho coming close but his goal overruled for an offside. He however proved his worth when he scored the match's opening and Brazil's lone goal.

First half was so tense and saw Netherlands go for a break trailing. When play resumed, it was not about the strength that Coach Dunga used through his defence of Lucio and Melo but the expertise through which Wesley Shneider and Ardjen Robben used to sneak in two goals both scored through tactical headers produced by the masterpiece of Shneider.

This was truly the work of a brilliant defence breaker as opposed to push and pull that saw Brazil remain one man down due to Melo red card that gifted the victory to the smart one. This just proves how soccer has shifted from mastery to brilliance thus the result proving the smarter ones were Netherlands
