Two and a half men - Mia or Chelsea?
The season finale of Two and a Half men was a little different in the respect that instead of being caught in a tug of war between two bimbos, as Charlie was prone to do in the past, he finds himself caught between two women that he really cares for on a deeper level.
The episode opens with things as we expect them to be. Charlie is still engaged to Chelsea, Alan is of course still living in the house and Jake is ... well he's Jake.
Alan is working on his screenplay, which has him writing at a coffee house. While he is trying to come up with a brilliant opening, Mia walks up. If you don't remember Mia, let me refresh your memory. She is the ballerina Charlie was dating for a while and almost married in Las Vegas.
Alan finds out she has split up with her husband and returned to California. Alan catches her up on Charlie and how things are going and she says she is happy for him, but you have a feeling there is going to be trouble.
The trouble comes late at night when the phone rings at the Harper house. Chelsea and Charlie are in bed and he is on the phone. He's saying all sorts of friendly things, but looks uncomfortable as Chelsea is closely watching his call.
When he gets off the phone he acts like it was no one and he is going to go to sleep. Chelsea knows better and makes it clear that she is not very happy with the fact that he is getting calls from his ex, not a surprise when you consider Charlie's track record with women.
Chelsea thinks Mia called to see if he is happy and engaged or and still available. Charlie responds too positively and Chelsea wants to know if he is happy or available. He says 'no I am not available... and no I'm not happy'. Catching himself he says she knows what he means...
Later on, Charlie is at the hospital waiting for Judith to give birth and is talking to someone in the waiting room about his situation. He misses the passion of a new relationship and isn't sure what to do.
The final scene of the show has Charlie, Chelsea and Alan in the coffee shop. Chelsea takes off for work and just moments later Mia walks up and says hi. Alan looks up from his computer and screenplay then looks back down to write, "To be continued...."
Interesting situation here. It's kind of new territory for Charlie. Usually he jumps from bed to bed with just any woman, but this time they are both ones he cares about. So, the question becomes, what will he do? I guess we have to wait until next season to find out.
