season 7 finale episode
The title for this seasons finale episode 'This is not going to end well' seems apt for many reasons. First of all this season has not been as good compared to the previous ones. The main reason is of course that Charlie fell in love, and has turned in a sobbing loser. We already have that in Alan, so the episodes this season have been somewhat depressing. I do agree that Chelsea has two very impressive assets, and i love watching her on the screen. But the show should move on.
This episode Jake becomes Charlie's designated driver after Charlie's license is suspended. Actually it seems his license had been suspended a long time back due to unpaid tickets. Alan on the other hand has been invited to Chelsea's birthday party. Charlie is first reluctant to let Alan go to the party, but then changes his mind, and tells Alan to go ahead. At the party Chelsea inquires about Charlie. Meanwhile Charlie is debating whether to go to the party himself, since he wants to gift her a birthday present. Apparently he bought it a couple of months back on St patricks day because he thought it was her birthday. He makes Jake ride him to the party, and then asks Jake to go and give the gift to Chelsea. After seeing the gift Chelsea tears up and goes for a walk with her dog. Charlie sees her coming, and panics. He tries to drive away and crashes into a police car. Chelsea walks by and sees Charlie being handcuffed. The final scene has Charlie in a yellow jumpsuit and it turns out he has been sentenced to do community service.
This episode did not seem like a finale in any sense. There were very few laughs, and by the end of the episode i was left in dread that they are going to drag the whole Charlie-Chelsea relationship into next season. If it turns out that way then next season will be the last for me. The writers really need to start doing their job, and make this once funny show finny again.
